TRAINING SESSIONS

Chris travels to you and your horse, to your home or barn or stable.  Each session is specifically tailored to horse and owner and the level they are at.  The design of the session is for Chris, the owner, and the horse to work together, and for the owner to learn the principles and methods, through groundwork and riding, that will allow them to be a safe and confidant leader to their horse.  The purpose of the visit is to leave horse and owner with ideas and techniques they can work on that will make an immediate difference in their training and relationship.

Chris’ horsemanship is based on many different training methods.  His groundwork program consists of such techniques as round penning, on-line control (Circle Moving), flexion and yielding, sacking out, the Jeffery Method, and more.  In his riding he blends both English and Western riding styles, with the riding following the foundation of trust and willingness of the horse that is created on the ground.  With safety and fun in riding being the priorities, Chris works a lot on safety maneuvers and control, and then moves toward the horse and rider’s desired direction such as trail riding, reining, jumping, dressage, etc.

Chris is based out of the Southern Maine area but will travel longer distances for clinics.  He works rain or shine, and everybody that works with him receives a follow up evaluation of what the owner and the horse should work on after the visit.
